Development Associate Job Position
Ozaukee Washington Land Trust (OWLT) is a non-profit environmental organization whose mission is to preserve the water resources, natural areas, and working lands of Ozaukee and Washington Counties. OWLT owns and actively manages over 35 nature preserves in Ozaukee and Washington counties. Development Responsibilities
-
Assist Development Director in coordination and implementation the organization’s fundraising strategies including, but not limited to major donor program, grant management, membership/donor program oversight, planned giving, and outreach/fundraising events.

Assist Development Director in coordination and execution of an individual and organization annual fundraising plans utilizing innovative, best fundraising practices.

Assist Development Director in the research, preparation, and execution of grant applications and grant management process.

Connect Executive Director and Development Director to key constituencies within the community and setting up meetings/presentation.

Connect OWLT supporters, (especially previous board members, donors, etc.) community members, civic organizations, businesses, with OWLT programs.
Marketing & Outreach Responsibilities

Assist Development Director in developing and implementing a marketing plan and ensure compelling marketing pieces consistent with the professional brand of OWLT, including, but not limited to, social media (regular), digital newsletter, print newsletters/appeals, and other publications.

Assist Development Director in planning and executing engaging community-building and donor-cultivating outreach events, such as the annual dinner fundraiser, house party receptions, and events across our preserves. Recruiting event attendees, coordinating day of fundraising event activities (from auction items to seating charts).

Assist Development Director in representing and promoting the organization at community events and meetings.

Assist Development Director in the production of the publications, including but not limited to biennial donor report, two print newsletters, monthly digital newsletters, and regular appeals for dissemination via mail, email, social media, and website.

Assist with website and donor database updates and improvements.

Assist with creating and updating permanent and temporary preserve signage and communications (rotating kiosk content).

Build relationships with traditional media to disseminate stories in relevant media.

Assist with coordinating OWLT preserve workday sponsorship programs for business sponsor.

Scheduling regular nature preserve visits for purpose of engagement and marketing photography.

Assist with the creative and promotions of OWLT apparel and merchandise.

Work with vendors and consultants to complete the production of marketing material in an efficient and effective manner.
Administrative Responsibilities
-
Record and follow-up on all volunteer/hunter applications and donor/community member requests. Work with appropriate team member to complete requests.

Data entry: updating relationship management software (Little Green Light) with timely updates to maintain strong relationships through constituent record maintenance.

Work with Development Director and Operation Manager to ensure timely and secure contribution processing and acknowledgment and to ensure print and email mailing lists are accurate. Assist with creating and sending thank you and memorial cards.

Assist with the creation of all print needs including mailings and mailing list, event material and name tags, brochures and promotion material, etc.
Skills

Donor database or similar CRM programs (OWLT currently uses Little Green Light)

Graphic design and presentation programs, such as Photoshop, InDesign, Publisher, PowerPoint

Experience with online communication programs, GetResponse/Constant Contact/Mailchimp, and social meeting platforms Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

Experience with website content creation and implementation.

Training on land management programs is optional depending on specific future project related duties.
Full-time Compensation: $36,000 base + Annual Health Stipend $5,040 and 3% Simple IRA contribution
