Stewardship Coordinator Employment Opportunity Position
Ozaukee Washington Land Trust (OWLT) is a non-profit environmental organization whose mission is to protect and steward land and water for the benefit of all. OWLT owns and actively manages over 35 nature preserves in Ozaukee and Washington counties. OWLT is seeking a passionate individual to assist with the stewardship, maintenance, and restoration of OWLT Preserves. Based primarily in the field, the Stewardship Coordinator will work closely with OWLT staff and volunteers and lead the team to control invasive species, plant native trees/shrubs, conduct prescribed fire, and maintain and improve trails, infrastructure, and access points. Utilizing sustainable management techniques and strong initiative, the Stewardship Coordinator can look forward to assisting in the preservation and enhancement of beautiful forests, prairies, wetlands, and other natural areas within Ozaukee and Washington Counties.
The Stewardship Coordinator position offers the opportunity to work closely with some of the best conservation professionals in Wisconsin. The successful candidate will be involved in the planning associated with projects, grants, management, and strategic plans and will execute implementation of day-to-day in-the-field objectives to achieve OWLT’s preserve goals.
Anticipate working across departments to design, manage, and execute all aspects of the Serve Wisconsin Americorps grant to expand OWLT’s Land Steward program for 2023-2024 field season.

Classification: Full-time, permanent position
Supervisor: Stewardship Manager and Stewardship Director
Supervises: Land Stewards, Supervision of volunteers (all ages) is required
Compensation: $38,000-$42,000 salary, medical stipend, and employer-matched 3% Simple IRA
Location: 90% field, 10% Program development (ability to work remotely)
Work Week: Monday – Friday, one weekend day per month required
