Other Ozaukee County Parks & Recreation Activities include:
Ozaukee County is planning to host two main sites. Both sites have at least three venues. RSVP not required.
Mee-Kwon County Park includes:
- An active fisheries demonstration at the pond and Mee-Kwon Creek at the large parking lot.
- Hikes on the newest trail up the hill to the natural area woods and then out of the woods to our new stormwater wetlands just constructed along the trail. We will have staff here to talk about the stormwater wetlands and other work we have planned for the trail system, prairie restoration, and extensive invasive species management. So, hopefully, people will walk this site (about a mile or more, depending) but could also drive between staffed areas.
Virmond County Park will be the Headquarters for Treasures 2023 and will include:
- Tours of the stairway
- Walking tours of the ecological work in the Park, including invasive species management, prairie restoration, wetland restoration, and forest/woodland restoration.
- Our National Marine Sanctuary will be represented at Virmond with a table headed by manager Russ Green. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear the latest on our Shipwreck Sanctuary, ask questions and more.
