MacLaurin Woods

This heavily wooded lowland area consists largely of hardwood forest of green ash, red and silver maple, and ironwood. There is a pronounced glacial esker on the site that extends from the southwest corner to the center of the area, where oak and basswood grow on the hill. A tributary stream of the Milwaukee River runs along the southern boundary and is environmentally significant to the watershed in protecting water quality and wildlife habitat.
