Celebrations & Fundraising Events

#17: 30th Year Celebration Community Awareness Event

Visitors to the OWLT Office on Saturday July 9th were welcomed by audio of train whistles and other historic railroad sounds. In the historic train depot's original operators office, now the home of the OWLT Stew Crew, and the ticket window, a display of photographs not only shared a sense of the depot's history, but it's resurrection as the OWLT offices. The original freight/baggage room, now the OWLT conference room, featured a plethora of information on conservation and stewardship activities as well as educational information. We thank all those that shared the beautiful anniversary morning with us.

#18: CELEBRATE CONSERVATION 30th Anniversary Celebration

The Port Exploreum was bursting with almost 150 guests at July 19th's Celebrate Conservation member event. The video donated by CIdesign, In-Kind Community Partner Sponsor, offered inspiration visuals as the air was filled with wonderful music by Dennis Klopfer, In-Kind Member Sponsor. Delicacies, desserts, and drinks by the Norbert/Orville Group, In-Kind Team Sponsor, greeted guests on both levels of the venue.

The group gathered to hear the announcement by Tom Stolp that we are close to prevailing with the conservation of Cedar Gorge Clay Bluffs, due to the dedication of the community, including the over 450 new OWLT members. The 30.30.30 Matching Gift Campaign was also announced. We have 30 days to raise $30,000 to receive a match in honor of our 30th anniversary!
