SITE SPECIFIC HUNTING POLICIES

Our preserves have unique hunting policies depending on many factors such as: public use, size, DNR contracts, sensitivity of the environment or management goals. Allowable activities are listed here for your reference – if an activity is not listed, it is considered restricted and not allowed at the site.

Biehl Nature Preserve on Lake Twelve – SOUTH Farmington, 20 acres

  • Managed Access Site (south parcel)

  • Deer hunting allowed

  • Hunting by bow only

  • Restoring Lands permits 3-5 hunters

Cedarburg Environmental Study Area – Cedarburg, 39 acres

  • Managed Access Site

  • Deer hunting allowed

Decorah Woods – West Bend, 45 acres

  • Managed Access Site

  • Deer hunting allowed

Fellenz Woods – Trenton, 160 acres

  • Managed Access Site

Forest Beach Migratory Preserve – Belgium, 116 acres

  • Managed Access Site

  • Deer hunting allowed

  • Hunting by bow only

  • No waterfowl, small game or upland game bird hunting

  • No predator hunting (coyote, fox, raccoon, etc.)

  • Trapping allowed

  • Restoring Lands permits 6-8 hunters

Huiras Lake State Natural Area – Fredonia, 113 acres

  • Managed Access Site

  • Deer hunting allowed

  • Hunting by bow and gun

Kratzsch Conservancy – Newburg, 73 acres

Wendt Preserve – Wayne, 45 acres

  • Managed Access site

  • Hunting by gun and bow

  • Waterfowl hunting allowed

  • Trapping and predator hunting allowed

  • Restoring Lands permits 2-4 hunters

  • Parking is on the shoulder of the road only and limited

  • Limited parking, first come first serve

Located 7380 Indian Lore Rd. West Bend, WI 53090

  • Open Access site

  • Trapping and predator hunting allowed

South Oak Preserve – Trenton, 72 acres

  • Open Access site

Schoofs Preserve – Erin, 51 acres

  • Open Access site

  • Deer hunting by gun and bow

  • Waterfowl, small game, and upland game bird hunting allowed

  • Trapping and predator hunting allowed

Spirit Lake Preserve – Mequon, 155 acres

  • Open Access site, however there is a restricted zone adjacent to the residential development east of the property and around the home on the north property line.

  • Hunters must obtain a discharge permit from the City of Mequon before hunting.

  • Parking is limited to seven spots and is first come first serve

  • Bow archery hunting only! 

  • Deer, waterfowl, small game and upland game bird hunting allowed

  • Trapping and predator hunting allowed
