Wendt Preserve

Located in the Town of Wayne, WI, Wendt Farm is a 45-acre mix of mesic forest, scrub wetland, and glacial hills. The majority of the property is covered in forest habitat where maple, basswood, beech, oak, hickory, aspen, walnut, ash, and birch trees grow in abundance. The eastern part of the property holds acres of tamarack swamp and sedge meadow, supported by peat soil formed by the ancient glaciers.  Those same glaciers also aided in the creation of the moraines and upland areas in the western side of the property. An unnamed stream flows through this property, draining into Lomira Creek in the south. Pets on leash welcome.
